Kevin’s design roots can be traced back to Cooke Elementary School in Detroit, MI where he would design program covers and event posters for plays and concerts. Kevin received his education through Redford High School as a drafting student and Eastern Michigan University, where he majored in Communication Technology and Graphic Design. He earned B.S. in Marketing from Colorado State University.
With over 15 years of graphic design and brand development experience, Kevin has amassed an expansive client portfolio with an emphasis on small business development, higher education, non-profit organizations. He is also a sought after speaker on topics ranging from personal branding, organizational branding, entrepreneurship, and strategic marketing.
Kevin serves as Senior Director of External Affairs for City Year Chicago. Prior to City Year, he served as Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing at North Park University, Senior Manager of Operations and Marketing for the Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management at North Park University, and Marketing and Design Manager at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kevin has also served in various roles for Target Corporation, The Home Depot, Rock Financial, and Penske Auto Group.
Kevin has been honored in Who’s Who in Black Detroit, as well as the recipient of the Earl Whitfield Design Award from the Association of College Unions International, Eastern Michigan University Black Alumni- Eastern Elite Award, and the Ford Freedom Unsung Hero Award.
He is a member of AIGA, American Marketing Association, National Public Relations Society of America, National Black Public Relations Society, 100 Black Men of Chicago, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
